Deep Thoughts By Bug

This post brought to you by our oldest daughter. She had to write a poem about herself and her family history for school. I thought it was pretty cool-I think she’s pretty cool =)

Where I’m From
By: Ali Flores

I am from wash cloths
From Johnson and Johnson and Dreft
I am from the big open yard….
Sitting on chocolate ridge, squinting in the sun

I am from the elm trees,
The birds of paradise
Whose beauty is framed
By the window
I am from Chinese New year and freckles,
From Sara and Pedro and Lila
I am from the comedy
And hugging,
From behaving and doing well in school.
I am from the Cross
Praying everyday.

I’m from San Diego and a little bit of everywhere else,
Eggrolls and tortillas
From the aches, pains, and tragedies of my grandma,
And my mom’s braveness of raising a child so young
I am from the cabinet in my mom’s room
Filled with albums
And baby books and bits of time
I am from the band of life
Marching to the beat of my own drum

***and tonight also courtesy of Bug….a not so deep thought! Gotta love Middle School humor!
Don’t question this…just do it people…you won’t be sorry.

Spell IHOP then say ‘ness at the end.

Now hurry and go tell someone, anyone, to say it….

=) Good times…good times

  1. Wow, looks like Bug has the same gift for writing that her mom does. That was amazing. I am still laughing about the IHOP thing, it took me a few tries, but I finally got it. Gonna tell Jake when he gets home...and everyone else I see today..and tomorrow...and...well you know.
