For Bert

We have a friend….well actually I would like to think we have MANY friends not just A friend----ok never mind..we have A friend named Bert.  My husband and Bert share a special love for each other. Bert has been involved in our lives since day one. He was there when we first met, when we had our first kiss, when we got married, when all three of our kids were conceived (and I didn’t even KNOW Chris for the first one!!) and when they were born. ( I KNOW…stalker right?!) So anyways yeah my husband is pretty gay for him. 

So yesterday Chris had some crazy chemical lab science drama at work (I stopped listening when he said ‘my day is sucking….’ and started humming the theme song for Days of our Lives in my head) anyways he needed a favor.  So I texted him with some number or something that he needed asap. Well he texted me back….ok first off when he texts he uses ‘word’-you know when you just press the number keys once and the most common word pops up-instead of pressing like ‘6’ three times for ‘o’-  ok so he was using word and apparently whatever assistance I had extended his way really helped because he texted me back ‘you’re the best’..except on HIS phone it comes out ‘you’re the bert’ WTF!!!!  I said “REALLY Baby?!” You can’t even compliment your wife without bringing up Bert’s name?  So now everything in our lives that is good is referred to as being ‘the bert’.  As in “hey, what did you think of that ice cream cone?”-- “oh this cone? Yeah it’s the bert!” 

Try it, love it, spread the word---it’s the new thing….it’s the bert!!!!

Speaking of being text..or rather tongue-twisted-when we first started using the phrase ‘the bert’ we were laughing so hard and Chris said ‘you should blog about this’….then he said ‘yeah give a little shat out to bert”  He said ‘shat’!!!!!! I was dying…is that like past tense of shit??

 So Bert here’s a shat out to you…you’re the bert!
